Leadership, Community, and Educational Contributions
Andrea Barr also plays a role in the following professional organizations as:
(1) an officer (Secretary in 2022-2023 and Vice President in 2023-2024) of the Disability and Elder Law Attorneys’ Association;
(2) Membership Chair of Attorneys in Tax and Probate; and
(3) an associate of the Texas Probate Law American Inn of Court.
By being involved in these organizations, Andrea Barr not only continues to keep her knowledge of the law current by continuing legal education opportunities including judges, court auditor, and court investigator panels, and attorneys or physicians but also networking with other attorneys to hear about novel or untried legal issues.
Along with her above involvement, Andrea Barr contributes to educating fellow lawyers and the general public by presentations with local law libraries, professional organizations, National Business Institute, and the Texas State Bar. On March 6, 2024, Andrea Barr presented “How to Uphold Ethical Standards in Probate Proceedings” in a webinar for the National Business Institute that covered ethical obligations under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct. In May 2024, Andrea Barr along with her pupillage group with the Texas Probate Law American Inn of Court will present in-person on probate issues.
